What does Made in Scotland mean to you? To us, it means using quality Scottish materials and experienced small businesses to create our range of luxurious Scottish handbags and accessories. Our aim is to showcase the best of Scotland in our products and we achieve this in both the materials we use and in the high quality of the manufacturing of each of our pieces.
For example, we source our Harris Tweed directly from weavers in the Outer Hebrides. To be considered as genuine Harris Tweed, the cloth must be both woven and finished on Harris and Lewis. We regularly buy from a number of individual weavers across Harris and Lewis who provide us with the traditional tweeds as well as the brightly coloured weaves that we are fond of.
Our tartans are sourced from a Scottish company with over 100 years experience in supplying fine textiles. They are able to supply us with a range of hundreds of different tartans – particularly useful when a customer asks us to create a bespoke bag in their choice of less well-known tartan.
When it comes to making the pieces in the Dunmore Scotland collections, we have a network of trusted small businesses that have years and years of experience in working with textiles and leather. They work with us to create the luxurious pieces across our collections, with an incredible attention to detail that is the hallmark of all Dunmore Scotland products.
All of this is done from our base in the Scottish Borders, with each Dunmore Scotland purchase hand-packed and sent to you directly from our HQ.
